Regarding so called teal ( I prefer red and yellow) I can't stand the waving arms like a weather forecaster each time the topic of climate change arises 'Fossil' fuels are stored solar energy - climate change is here to stay - government workers are too - we can influence the number of government workers - ice ages have come and gone that are nothing to do with human activity whatsoever - get over it!?

No need to trash your smartphone just dry it out before you start using it again!?

Electronics don't mind water unless they are powered up and short circuiting

Remove the battery and or switch it off immediately being an electronics manufacturer once I know that the first thing you do with a populated micro circuit board fresh out the mini components oven is to give it a scrub in warm soapy water

Just remove power right away - better still power it off before you get near or go on the water

To dry out just make sure your phone is switched off and remove the battery or covers if possible and just rinse in fresh water and then leave to it dry out in the sun or use a hair dryer until completely dry
